Scott Osenenko - Firefighter - Louisiana

Firefighter Scott Osenenko, age 45, died on December 3, 2011, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Scott was a volunteer member of the Livingston Parish Fire Department. He had almost one year of service.

He responded to a call that a family had been awakened when they found their home on fire around 4 a.m. He was on the first unit to respond and worked for nearly 20 minutes removing people from danger and fighting the fire. After exiting the building, Scott began to experience cardiac distress and was treated and taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead as a result of the injuries he received at the scene.
Saint Florian, Patron Saint
of Firefighters, pray for Scott

No one inside the home was reported to have suffered significant injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and an electric space heater is being looked at as a possible cause.

Fire Department officials stated that Scott was a model firefighter who was eager to learn.

Scott is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents and two children.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Scott Osenenko is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
