Elijah Bond

British Sapper Elijah Cooper Bond, age 24, died on December 8, 2011, in Birmingham, England.

Elijah was a member of the 35 Engineer Regiment, Royal Engineers.

He was wounded on December 6, 2011, in an explosion in central Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was transported back to England where he succumbed to his injuries. 

He was from St. Austell in Cornwall.

Military officials describe Elijah as a rising star with a lively and outgoing nature. They also describe him as a first rate soldier - reliable, enthusiastic and committed. 

Family members describe Elijah as their beautiful son, amazing brother and best friend. They also describe him as mischievous and fun, yet grounded and down to earth.

Elijah is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother Lizz, father Mark, sisters Kimberley and Bethany, and brothers Jose and Isaac.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Elijah Bond is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
