Zachary C. Reiff

Cpl. Zachary C. Reiff, age 22, of Preston, Iowa, died on November 21, 2011, of wounds suffered on November 18, 2011, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. 

He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, California.

Zachary graduated from Preston High School in 2007, where he played football, wrestled and ran track.

High school officials describe him as a good person who did his own thing and never caused anybody trouble.

Friends said that he was proud to serve his country and that he will be greatly missed.

Zach was on his second tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Zach is survived by numerous loving friends and relatives including his parents, Marcia and Matt Reiff and his brother, Kolby Reiff. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Zachary C. Reiff is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
