Sgt. Timothy D. Sayne, age 31, of Reno, Nevada, died on September 18, 2011, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
He was assigned to the 5th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

Timothy joined the Army in February 2008, graduated from basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and arrived at Fort Wainwright in August 2008. He had one previous combat tour of duty in Iraq from September 2008 to September 2009 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Timothy is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Mary (Kathy); father, Robert; his wife, Thania one son.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Timothy D. Sayne is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
