He had been a member of the New York City Police Department for two months.

He was engaged in a training run along the East River with his academy class. He collapsed shortly after the run finished. He was transported to Beth Israel Hospital where he passed away.
Sherman had previously served with the New City Department of Corrections for four years.
Pray for all who die in the line of duty.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Sherman Abrams is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
