Daniel A. Quintana

Staff Sgt. Daniel A. Quintana, age 30, of Huntington Park, California, died on September 10, 2011, in Paktika province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using small arms fire. 

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 172nd Infantry Brigade, Schweinfurt, Germany.

Daniel Quintana joined the military 11 years ago, first joining the Air Force before enlisting in the Army. He had planned to make a career of the service. This was Daniel's second deployment. He had previously served a tour in Iraq.

Family members stated that he loved the military. 

Daniel is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his wife and two children. A third child is due to be born in January of 2012. He is also survived by his father, Daniel Quintana Sr. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Daniel A. Quintana is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
