Danial R. Adams

Sgt. 1st Class Danial R. Adams, age 35, of Portland, Oregon, died on September 13, 2011, in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using mortar, machine-gun and small-arms fires.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Stuttgart, Germany.

Danial R. Adams joined the Army as an infantry man in 1995, when America wasn't at war. He took difficult assignments and passed demanding classes, becoming a Ranger and, in 2005, earning his Green Beret. In 2009, he joined the 1st Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group, based in Stuttgart, Germany.

He had served in Iraq and Afghanistan previously. He was posthumously promoted to Master Sergeant.
Father, place Danial on the
stairway to Heaven.

He had won a series of commendations reflecting his service in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere. Among other honors, he was awarded the Parachutist Badge, the Air Assault Badge and the Combat Infantry Badge.

Danial is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, James and Penny Adams; and his wife, Melany; sons, Jeffrey and John and daughter, Skye.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Danial R. Adams is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
