Chester G. Stoda

Sgt. Chester G. Stoda, age 32, of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, died on September 2, 2011, from a scuba diving accident.

He was assigned to the 8th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas.

In February of 2008 he joined the United States Army, he became a Combat Engineer and served in Korea until 2009. He was then stationed at Fort Hood and deployed to Afghanistan with the 8th Engineering Battalion in December 2010.

His awards and decorations include the Korea Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, two Overseas Service Ribbons and a Combat Action Badge. 

Family members stated that he was respected among his fellow soldiers and was honored to serve his country. 

Chester is survived by numerous friends and family members including his parents, Douglas and Ann Stoda, and sisters Aubrey and Valene.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Chester G. Stoda is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
