Spc. Christopher D. Horton, age 26, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, died on September 9, 2011, in Paktia, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire.
He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 279 Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Oklahoma National Guard, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Christopher Horton signed up for the Oklahoma National Guard in 2008. He underwent basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, and qualified as a sniper and infantryman. He was killed while on his first deployment.
Christopher Horton graduated from the Missouri Military Academy prior to enlisting in the National Guard.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Christopher D. Horton is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
