Nicanor Amper IV

Sgt. Nicanor Amper IV, age 36, of San Jose, California, died on July 5, 2011, in Khowst, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with a rocket propelled grenade.

He was assigned to the 6th Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Knox, Ky.

Jesus, pray for Nicanor
Nicanor was a cavalry scout on his first combat deployment.  He began his military career as a Marine rifleman in 1995 before transferring to the Army in 2005.

Nicanor is a married father of two sons from a previous marriage. He was only a few months shy of finishing his tour of duty.

His father stated: "I just want him remembered as a patriot for his country. He loved his country, he loved his family and he loved his men and made sure that they were safe."

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Nicanor Amper IV is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
