Kyle R. Schneider

Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider, age 23, of Phoenix, New York, died on June 30, 2011, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. 

He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Kyle was from the Oswego County village of Phoenix, 15 miles north of Syracuse. He joined the Marine Corps in March 2008 and was deployed to Afghanistan in January.

Kyle told family members that he'd be going to Afghanistan to do patriotic work. 

Kyle Schneider leaves behind a fiancé, his parents and a younger brother. 

His awards include the National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and NATO Medal – ISAF Afghanistan.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Kyle R. Schneider is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
