Dominic J. Ciaramitaro

Lance Cpl. Dominic J. Ciaramitaro, age 19, of South Lyon, Michigan, died on April 23, 2011, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He died from brain injuries after an improvised explosive device detonation.

Jesus, pray for Dominic
and all 19 year olds
He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Family members described Dominic as a great kid who had many, many friends. Dominic, who graduated from South Lyon High School in 2009, played football while he was in school. He joined the Marines the day after his high school graduation.

In addition to his mother, Debbie Beaupre, Dominic is survived by his father, John Ciaramitaro; his brother, Sam Ciaramitaro, of South Lyon; his sisters Holly Ciaramitaro, of Los Angeles, Calif. and Lucy Ciaramitaro, of South Lyon; and his grandparents, Marie and Sam Ciaramitaro of Grosse Pointe.

Family members stated that Dominic was "an extremely outgoing, loving, active, athletic guy;  He was never afraid of anything....".

In the end, this poor kid, was just 19.  Jesus pray for the 19 year olds.  God knows, they had no time in this world.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Dominic J. Ciaramitaro is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen

The Ciaramitaro lived next door to us on Cadieux Rd and we enjoyed them all especially the children. I was restoring a '38 Chevy at the time and Dominic was my helper more than once. He was a great help to me when I had to bleed the brakes. It truly breaks our heart about the loss of Dominic, it's like our own being taken from us. From our young years at St Philip Neri we were taught to have faith in the Virgin Mary and since we still do I know she will walk the road with Dominic directly to Our Lord.
