Marine Cpl. Tevan L. Nguyen, age 21, was killed on December 28, 2010, during combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, at Camp Pendleton, Calif. He enlisted in the Marines on June 11, 2007, and Afghanistan was his first combat deployment.
"He didn't drink, he never smoked, and he believed in prayer," a relative stated.
He won several personal service awards, including the Purple Heart, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal.
He is survived by his parents, Tam and Amy Nguyen, his girlfriend Monique and the couple's 3 month old son, as well as numerous other loving relatives.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Tevan L. Nguyen is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
