Ethan Goncalo

Ethan Goncalo, age 21, from Fall River, Massachusetts, died on Dec. 12, 2010, in Afghanistan.


Ethan Goncalo deployed to Afghanistan in October with the 181st Infantry Regiment of the Massachusetts National Guard. He was due to return home on leave Dec. 16th.


“He was the man,” Brett Duarte, 19, of Fall River said of his cousin. “He was that person you would want to call when you were feeling down. He could always put a smile on your face. He always knew what to say.”


Ethan Goncalo, the youngest of four, graduated in 2008 from Durfee High School, where he starred on the baseball team. He attended Westfield State University and Massasoit Community College before signing up with the National Guard in the spring. 


Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Ethan Goncalo is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
