Alexander Missildine - U.S. Army Fatality - Iraq

Alexander Missildine
Spc. Alexander W. Missildine, age 20, of Tyler, Texas, died in the line of duty on October 1, 2017, in Ninawa Province, Iraq.

Spc. Missildine was assigned to the 710th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Polk, Louisiana. Alex was a motor transport operator.

While on assignment, an improved explosive device detonated near his convoy. Tragically, Alex was mortally wounded and succumbed to his injuries.

The incident is under investigation.

Alex was serving in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, which is the U.S. Military operation against ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

Alex joined the Army in July of 2015. After training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, he arrived at Fort Polk in December of 2015. He deployed with his unit last month to Iraq.

Badge, the Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal with one campaign star, National Defense Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.

Alex's military comrades are in mourning over the death of their young brother. He is a patriot who died in the service of his country. He was one of the good guys. He will be forever remembered.

Alex's loved ones are devastated by his sudden and tragic death. He was a good kid who was just starting out in life. He was loved. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Oceans of tears have been shed for Alex.

Alex is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his mother, his father, and his step-parents.

Thank you for your service to America, Alex. 

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Pray for all who die in a foreign land, far from their loved ones.

Pray that Alex is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.

Pray, without ceasing, unto God for an end to all War. It is enough.
