Anthony Borostowski - State Trooper Fatality - Wisconsin

Trooper Anthony Borostowski, age 34, of Tomah, Wisconsin, died in the line of duty on April 11, 2017, on a highway near Lake Delton, Wisconsin.

Trooper Borostowski was a member of the Wisconsin State Patrol. He had 3 years of service.

Anthony was on patrol overnight. Sometime after 4:00 a.m., his patrol car left the roadway and collided with a tree. It is believed that he may have been pursuing a traffic violator. 

Tragically, Anthony died of his injuries at the scene of the accident. 

Anthony had previously lived in Kenosha and graduated from Oak Creek High School in 2001. 

In 2015, Anthony received the State Patrol's Lifesaving Award after performing CPR on a man and thereby saving the man's life.

Anthony was also a Staff Sergeant with the Wisconsin Army National Guard. He enlisted in May of 2004 and deployed as a combat medic to Kuwait, then to Iraq and then to Afghanistan.

Anthony's awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal (2nd award), the Iraqi Campaign Medal, The Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Combat Action Badge, the Humanitarian Service Medal and the Drill Sergeant's Badge. 

The members of the Wisconsin State Patrol are in mourning over the death of their brother. Anthony was a dedicated and professional trooper who was well-respected by his comrades. He will be forever remembered.

Anthony's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was their hero. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Anthony is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members who will forever miss him.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Anthony is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
