Tyler Iubelt - U.S. Military Fatality - Afghanistan

Pfc. Tyler R. Iubelt, age 20, of Tamaroa, Illinois, died in the line of duty on November 12, 2016, in Bagram, Afghanistan.

Pfc. Iubelt was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Special Troops Battalion, 1st Sustainment Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. He served as a motor transport operator.

An attack was carried out by a Taliban suicide bomber before 6:00 a.m., at Bagram Airfield.

Tragically, Tyler died of injuries sustained from an improvised explosive device.

One other American soldier and two American contractors were also killed. Sixteen American troops and one Polish soldier were wounded in the attack.

Tyler was a participant in the U.S. military action against terrorists in Afghanistan.

Tyler graduated from Pinckneyville Community High School in 2015. He enlisted in the Army in October of 2015 and had deployed to Afghanistan in September of 2016.

Friends stated that Tyler was proud to serve his country. He had a quick wit and a ready smile. Tyler enjoyed duck hunting, fishing and grilling.

He was a member of the Sunfield Baptist Church in Sunfield, Illinois.

Angels of God, pray for Tyler and for those
who have lost him. 
Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Combat Action Badge.

Tyler's comrades at Fort Hood are in mourning over the death of their young brother. He was a patriot and a hero. He will be forever remembered.

Tyler's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was just starting out in life. He was loving and was loved in return. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Tyler is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his mother and father, his three brothers, his wife and his infant daughter.

Thank you for your service to America, Tyler.

Pray for all who die while far away from their loved ones.

Pray for all who die suddenly. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray, without ceasing, unto God for an end to all War. It is enough.

Pray that Tyler is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
