Tim Pratt |
Trooper Pratt was a member of the New York State Troopers. He had almost 30 years of service.
Just after 6:00 a.m. Tim was on duty in Wilton, when he noticed a semi-trailer parked in the center lane of a roadway near the State Police Barracks. Tim spoke to the driver, gave him directions, and stepped away from the truck. He was then struck by a passing motorist.
Tim was rushed to a local hospital and then to a hospital in Albany where, tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.
It is not expected that the driver of the vehicle that struck Tim will be charged. It was a tragic accident.
Michael, Patron Saint of the Police, pray for Tim and for those who have lost him. |
Tim served in the Air Force from 1979 to 1986. He joined the State Police in 1987. He was assigned to the Traffic Incident Management Unit in Wilton.
New York State Troopers are in mourning over the death of their brother. Tim epitomized community policing. He liked helping others. He was highly respected and well-liked by his comrades. He was one of the good guys. He will be forever remembered.
Tim's loved ones are devastated over his sudden death. He loved his family and he was loved in return. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.
Tim is survived by many loving friends and family members including his daughter and sons and his fiancée.
Pray for all who die in the line of duty.
Thank you for your service to your country and to the community, Tim.
Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.
Pray that Tim is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
