Michael Ventura - Public Safety Officer - Wisconsin

Public Safety Officer Michael Ventura, age 32, of Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, died in the line of duty on July 8, 2016, at a hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Officer Ventura was a member of the Department of Public Safety of Salem, Wisconsin. He had under 2 months of service. 

Michael had graduated from the Gateway Technical College Law Enforcement Academy in May of 2016. He had previously served as a corrections officer. 

At about 6:00 p.m., Michael was travelling with his emergency equipment activated when his squad car veered off of State Highway 50 and crashed into the ditch. 

Michael was flown to a hospital in Milwaukee where, tragically, he passed away. 

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

The Salem Department of Public Safety is in mourning over the death of their brother. Michael was a competent and trustworthy officer. He will be forever remembered.

Michael's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Michael is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members who will forever miss him.

Thank you for your service to the community, Michael.

Pray that Michael is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
