Matthew Hester - U.S. Soldier - Colorado

Matthew Hester

Spc. Matthew Hester, age 28, died in the line of duty on July 25, 2016, at a hospital in Colordo Springs, Colorado.

Spc. Hester was assigned to the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, at Fort Carson.

He was a combat medic.

Around 7:30 a.m., Matthew was undergoing a run during a routine training exercise when he suddenly collapsed.

Other medics provided first responder assistance and rushed Matthew to a local hospital where, tragically, he passed away.

The circumstances of Matthew's death are under investigation.

Matthew was originally from Hollywood, Florida. He had enlisted in the Army in March

Matthew's Army comrades are in mourning over the death of their young brother. He cared for others. He will be forever remembered.

Matthew's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was a good kid who was trying to do his best. He will be forever mourned.

Matthew is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members who will forever miss him.
