Derrick Mingo |
Sergent Mingo was a member of the Winnsboro Police Department. He had five years of service with the Department and 12 years with the Franklin Parish Sheriff's Office.
Just after 4:00 a.m. Derrick was attempting to help another officer needing assistance with a motor vehicle pursuit of a drunk driver.
As he was traveling to the scene of the pursuit, he struck a street in the front yard of another law enforcement officer's yard. His vehicle had careened off the road.
Ttragically, he succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
