Ronald Jason Adams - Firefighter Fatality - Arkansas

Ronald Jason Adams
Firefighter Ronald Jason Adams, age 29, died in the line of duty on January 22, 2016, at a hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was known as Jason to his family and friends.

Jason was a firefighter with the East Pulaski Volunteer Fire Department where he had 9 years of service. He was a full time firefighter with the Sherwood Fire Department with 5 years of service.

Jason was responding to a medical emergency call at a rural home near Little Rock. At about 5:00 a.m. a call had been received that a man was having a seizure.  Jason lived nearby and was the first firefighter to arrive on the scene. Immediately, he was shot by someone in the house.

Jason was rushed to a nearby hospital where, tragically, he succumbed to his wounds.

Mark Pruitt
Mark Pruitt, age 47, has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. It has been suggested that Pruitt came out of his seizure, saw somebody at the door and started shooting.

Mark Pruitt is innocent unless proven guilty. However, it is patently obvious that too many people in America, who have unstable mental conditions, have access to firearms. Anyone who is subject to blackout seizures of any type should not be allowed to be in possession of a gun nor should they be allowed to drive a vehicle. The safety of the public is at stake.

The East Pulaski and Sherwood Fire Departments are in mourning over the death of their brother. Jason was a valued asset to both Departments. He had a sense of humor and made others smile. He will be forever remembered.

Florian, Patron Saint of
Firefighters, pray for Jason
and for those who have lost him.
Jason's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. Firefighting was his life. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Jason is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members who will forever miss him.

Thank you for your service to the community, Jason.

Pray for justice for Jason.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

God save us from the Lost Ones who bring death to strangers. Amen.

Pray that Jason is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
