Jessica Colker - a murder victim in Grenada

Jessica Colker

Jessica Colker, age 39, died on January 24, 2016, on a beach in St. David, Grenada, in the Caribbean.

Jessica and her husband, Brian Melito, age 62, had arrived for a vacation at a local resort on January 23, 2016.

At about noon of the following day, Jessica was walking along the beach with her husband when a man suddenly appeared and attacked them with a sword. The husband was able to escape and run for help.

By the time her husband and the authorities arrived back at the scene of the attack, Jessica was missing. Tragically, she was later found deceased.

David Martin Benjamin turned himself in to Police on January 25, 2016. He is under investigation for Jessica's murder. He is an ex-convict who had been released from prison a month ago. He had served a 15 year sentence for the rape of a child.

In December of 2015, a Canadian tourist, Linnea Veinotte, was also tragically murdered in Grenada.

Jessica and her husband are from Atlanta, Georgia. She worked in anesthesiology at

Jessica and her husband were married in November of 2015. 

Jessica's co-workers are in mourning over the death of their friend. She was a valued member of their team. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. She will be forever remembered.

Friends describe Jessica as a genuine and loving woman. She volunteered a lot of personal time working with refugee groups.

Jessica's loved ones are devastated over her sudden and tragic death. She did her best. She will be forever mourned.

Jessica is survived by many loving friends and family members including her husband, Brian.

Pray for justice for Jessica. 

Pray for her loved ones who have suffered an unspeakable loss.

God save us from the psychopaths. They are killing us, Father. Amen.
