Lloyd Reed - Police Officer Fatality - Pennsylvania

Police Officer Lloyd Reed, age 54, died in the line of duty on November 28, 2015, at a hospital in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. 

Officer Reed was a member of the St. Clair Township Police Department. He had five years of service with the Department. He had previously served with the Seven Springs Borough Police Department, Hooversville Borough Police Department, and Seward Borough Police Department. In total, he had served 25 years in law enforcement. 

Just after 9:00 p.m. on November 28, 2015, Lloyd was one of a number of law enforcement officers who responded to a call from a woman in New Florence. She reported that a man had beaten her, had threatened to kill her and himself and had used a wood-burning stove to fill the house with smoke. Lloyd was the first officer to arrive at the scene and was shot in the torso. It is believed that Lloyd was able to return fire and shot the suspect in the shoulder.

Lloyd was rushed to a hospital in Johnstown where, tragically, he was pronounced deceased.

but was apprehended by police after a manhunt. He will be charged with homicide.

Lloyd was an avid trout fisherman, a NASCAR fan and a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved working on cars. 

The St. Clair Township Police Department is in mourning over the death of their brother. He will be forever remembered.

Lloyd's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He had a kind nature and was helpful to others. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Lloyd is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his wife, Rosemarie.

Thank you for your service to law enforcement, Lloyd.

God save us from the Lost Ones who bring death to strangers. Amen.

Pray that Lloyd is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
