Six U.S. Military Personnel killed in Airplane crash in Afghanistan

A terrible tragedy occurred on October 2, 2015, at the Jalalabad Airport near Kabul, Afghanistan.

At midnight a military transport plane, a C-130 Hercules, was taking off from the airport when it crashed. The cause of the crash is under investigation but enemy fire is not believed to be the cause.

The airport is located alongside U.S. Operating Base Fenty, which is manned by the Air Force and Army.

Thirteen people were killed in this tragedy - six U.S. military personnel, five civilian contractors and two Afghan civilians who were killed on the ground.

The Servicemen and woman killed were from the 39th Airlift Squadron, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas and the 66th Security Forces Squadron, Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts and are listed below:

Capt. Jonathan J. Golden, age 33, of Camarillo, California.
Capt. Jordan B. Pierson, age 28, of Abilene, Texas.
Staff Sgt. Ryan D. Hammond, age 26, of Moundsville, West Virginia.
Senior Airman Quinn L. Johnson-Harris, age 21, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Senior Airman Nathan C. Sartain, age 29, of Pensacola, Florida.
Airman 1st Class Kcey E. Ruiz, age 21, of McDonough, Georgia.

The names of the deceased civilian contractors and the Afghan civilians are not available at this time.

The military comrades of these men and woman are in mourning over the deaths of

their brothers and sister. They will be forever remembered.

The loved ones of these men and this woman have suffered an unspeakable loss. They will be forever mourned. Oceans of tears will be shed for them.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. 

Pray that Jonathan, Jordan, Ryan, Quinn, Nathan and Kcey are in heaven. Pray that they are at peace and are with God. Amen.
