Rosemary Vela - Sheriff's Deputy Fatality - Tennessee

Deputy Sheriff Rosemary Vela died in the line of duty on September 29, 2015, on a highway near Huntersville, Tennessee.

Deputy Sheriff Vela was a member of the Madison County Sheriff's Office. She had 5 months of service. Previously she had served with the Alamo Police Department and the Crockett County Sheriff's Office.

Sometime after midnight, Rosemary was responding to a call for back-up.  She was travelling on a highway near Huntersville when her patrol car left the roadway and struck a tree. The car then came to rest in a creek. There had been heavy rains prior to the accident.

Tragically Rosemary died at the scene.

Rosemany was the mother of a 5 year old son.  Friends stated that Rosemary was dedicated to her son.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office, the Alamo Police Department and the Crockett County Sheriff's Office are in mourning over the death of their sister. She was relatively new to law enforcement but she had a bright future ahead of her. She will be forever remembered.

Rosemary's loved ones are devastated over her sudden and tragic death. She did her best. She will be forever mourned.

Rosemary is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including her young son.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Rosemary is in heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
