Lassana Bathily - a Good Samaritan during the Paris Terrorist killings

Lassana Bathily
During the morning of January 9, 2015, Lassana Bathily, age 24, was working at his job at a kosher supermarket in the Porte de Vincennes neighborhood of eastern Paris.

The store was busy and is popular among the district's Jewish, Muslim and Christian residents.

Jihadist and terrorist, Ahmed Coulibaly, age 32, entered the store and held 19 people hostage. He shot and killed 4 of them.

When the attack started about 15 of the store's customers managed to flee to the basement.

Lassana Bathily opened the freezer and turned off the electricity. He motioned the customers inside the freezer and told them to stay calm.

They stayed in the freezer for five hours until the police gained control of the building and the attacker had been killed.

Lassana is a Muslim from Mali, Africa. The customers of the store who had hidden in the freezer thanked him for helping them.

Lassana Bathily is a Good Samaritan. He reached out to help others in a time of chaos and danger.

God bless him and all who come to the aid of strangers.

God knows we need more men like him in this world.
