Wyatt Martin - U.S. Military Fatality - Afghanistan

Wyatt Martin
Spc. Wyatt J. Martin, age 22, of Mesa, Arizona, died in the line of duty on December 12, 2014, in Parwan Province, Afghanistan.

He died of wounds inflicted from an enemy explosive device. 


Another American soldier also died in the attack.

Wyatt was assigned to the 3rd Engineer Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

He joined the Army in August of 2012.

Wyatt's military comrades are in mourning over the death of their young brother who died in the service of his country. 

Friends describe Wyatt as a popular young man who had character and integrity. He will be forever remembered.

describe him as a man who was committed to his military service. He felt blessed and wanted to give back to society. 

He was a 6 foot 4 inch tall Paul Bunyan type of man who loved the outdoors. After his military service was completed he wanted to attend Michigan State University with a view to becoming a Fish and Game Officer. 

His family members are extremely proud of Wyatt.  He will be forever mourned.

Wyatt is survived by many loving comrades, friends and relatives including his mother and father, Julie and Brian Martin; and his two sisters.

Thank you for serving, Wyatt. 

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Wyatt.

Pray that Wyatt is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
