Rashid Keblawe - a Store Owner murdered in Florida

Rashid Keblawe

Rashid Keblawe, age 40, of Miramar, Florida, died at his convenience store on November 27, 2014, in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

During the morning of Thanksgiving Day, Rashid was working at the store. Just before 10:00 a.m., two young black males in hoodies entered the store and started shopping. As Rashid was bagging their items, they leaned over the counter and started shooting. They also shot at a customer who managed to escape.

They then jumped over the counter and started to beat Rashid.  When he fought back, they shot him several more times. Tragically, Rashid died at the scene.

The two males fled the store and sped off in an older model Buick 4-door.

It is unclear as to what the motive for this murder was. It is unknown if the two men stole anything.

If you know anything about this crime, you are urged to call Miami-Dade
Gabriel, Archangel, pray for
Rashid and for those who
have lost him.
Crimestoppers, anonymously, at 305-471-8477.

Rashid and his wife were expecting their first child in January of 2015.

Rashid had come with his family to the U.S.A. in 1982, when he was just a kid. In his adult years, he operated a number of restaurants and convenience stores. Family members describe him as generous, helpful and an overall great guy. He was a hard worker. He would extend credit to customers who were short of money. He was overjoyed at becoming a new father.

Rashid's loved ones are devastated over his senseless and tragic death. He will be forever mourned.

Rashid is survived by many loving friends and family members including but not limited to his father, Hisham Keblawe; his wife, Laiali; his three siblings; and his unborn daughter.

Pray for all who go to work and who die there.

God save us from the Lost Ones who bring death to strangers.

Pray that Rashid is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
