Grant Whitaker - Law Enforcement - Michigan

Grant Whitaker
Deputy Sheriff Grant Whitaker, age 25, of Stockbridge, Michigan, died in the line of duty on December 7, 2014.

Deputy Whitaker was a member of the Ingham County Sheriff's Office. He had 1 year and 6 months of service. He had previously served with the Stockbridge Police Department.

At about 2:00 a.m., Grant was pursuing a white SUV on a local roadway in Stockbridge when his patrol car left the roadway and crashed into a tree. Grant suffered fatal injuries.

The driver of the vehicle he was pursuing continued to flee and remains at large.

Members of the community would like to know who Grant was pursuing and why this person was fleeing in the first place.

pray for Grant and for those who have lost him
brother.  Grant was known for his great smile and his friendly manner.  He will be forever remembered.

Grant's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He loved being a member of law enforcement.  He will be forever mourned.

Grant is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members.
