Alejandro Castro - Firefighter - Brownsville, Texas

Firefighter/Medic Alejandro Castro, age 40, died while on duty on November 16, 2014, in Brownsville, Texas.

Alejandro was known as Alex to his family and friends. 

He was a member of the Brownsville Fire Department.  He was a driver and pump operator at Station No. 8. He had 14 years of service. 

During the evening of November 16th, he was at the Station, when he was found unconscious.  CPR was performed on him but tragically he had passed away. 

It is believed that Alex died of atherosclerotic vascular disease. 

The Brownsville Fire Department is in mourning over the death of their brother. Officials stated that Alex was a great guy who was always willing to help others.  He was uptempo, well-liked and well-respected by his peers. Alex will be forever remembered.

Alex's loved ones are devastated by his sudden death. He will be forever mourned.

Alex is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his wife and two children.

Thank you for your service to the community, Alex. 

Pray for all who die suddenly. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Alejandro is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
