Patrice Vincent - Canadian soldier killed by a Jihadist in Quebec

Patrice Vincent
Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, age 53, died on October 20, 2014, at a hospital in Quebec.

Patrice was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces and had 28 years of service.

Patrice and another soldier were in the parking lot of a strip mall in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu on the morning of October 20, when a car deliberately slammed into them. Both soldiers were transported to a local hospital where tragically Patrice Vincent succumbed to his injuries. The other soldier was not seriously hurt.

Martin Rouleau, age 25, was the driver. After striking the men he drove off and was chased by the Police until he lost control and rolled into a ditch. He then fled the car with a knife in his hand. Police shot him six or seven times and killed him.

Martin Rouleau was a jihadist Muslim who wanted to join the ISIS terrorist group in

Syria and Iraq. The Canadian government was aware of this and had seized his passport to prevent him from leaving for Syria. However, he was not arrested at that time as he had not committed any crime.

Neighbors of this man said he lived at his father's house. He had a young child who was not living with him and that he had converted to Islam in 2013. His Islamic name was "Ahmad Rouleau".  He had become increasingly more radical with the passage of time.

Patrice Vincent had joined the armed forces in 1986. He had been posted to bases in Halifax, Valcartier, Montreal, Trenton, North Bay, Edmonton and Comox and Esquimalt in British Columbia.

He had served as a mechanical technician. He had also served as a military firefighter.

Comrades describe him as a quiet man who kept to himself. He was friendly and

God save us from the Lost Ones who bring death to strangers.

Pray that Patrice is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
