Jacob Wykstra - U.S. Military

Pfc. Jacob H. Wykstra, age 21, of Thornton, Colorado, died on May 28, 2014, in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained as a result of an aircraft accident.

The incident is under investigation.

Jacob was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado.

He joined the Army in 2013.  He arrived at Fort Carson in September of 2013. He deployed to Afghanistan in January of 2014.

In his year of service, Jacob had earned a National Defense Service Medal, an Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and an Army Service Ribbon.

His military comrades are in mourning over the death of this young brother.  He will be
Angels of God, pray for Jacob and for those
who have lost him
forever remembered. 

He is regarded as a good kid who did his best.

Jacob's family members are devastated over his tragic passing. He will be forever mourned.

Jacob is survived by many loving comrades, friends and relatives. 

Thank you for serving, Jacob. 

Pray for all who die young in a foreign land. We didn't get a chance to say goodbye.

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Jacob.  He wouldn't have died there if there was no war there.

Pray that Jacob is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
