Kenneth Santillan - a teen killed by a dog in Paterson, New Jersey

Kenneth Santillan
Kenneth Clodo Santillan, age 13, died on February 28, 2014, in Paterson, New Jersey.

Kenneth had been walking home from school with his friend at about 4:30 p.m. when both kids were attacked by a 115 pound Bull Mastiff on a neighborhood street. The dog, named "Trigger", managed to escape from its fenced yard.

Kenneth's body was found beside a nearby creek. He must have ran there before the dog finished him off.

The other boy is recovering from a bite to the hand. The dog was destroyed by Animal Control.

Criminal charges may be filed against the dog's owner. The dog's owner had to stab

the dog several times to get it to stop attacking everyone, including himself.

Neighbors reported that the dog was kept outside, winter and summer. Kids would taunt the dog and the dog became aggressive when it saw kids.

Animal Control officials stated that the attack was horribly brutal. The dog had previously bitten another boy but the attack had not been reported to the authorities.

Where are the officials of Paterson, New Jersey? Where are the law makers of New Jersey? Do you not understand what an inherently dangerous dog is? Why do you allow these dogs to be kept in your jurisdictions?

Some dog breeds should be banned outright and bred out of existence. Pit Bulls and Bull Mastiffs are two such breeds.

Death by dog is not acceptable in a civilized country.

And please - no comments from readers about how your Bull Mastiff is your best
Mary, pray for Kenneth

friend and saved your life and licks your baby's face. Nobody cares about your mutt but you.

Jesus, all saints and all angels - pray that we are saved from this stupidity.

Kenneth's family are totally devastated by his tragic and senseless death. He was a good kid, close to his family and just beginning his teenage years. His potential has been lost. He will be forever mourned.

Kenneth is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother and father, Tiffany Santillan and Clodo Kenneth Santillan Jr.; and his sisters, Julissa and Madison.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and gone the next.

Pray that Kenneth is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
