Caleb Erickson - U.S. Military

Lance Cpl. Caleb L. Erickson, age 20, of Waseca, Minnesota, died on February 20, 2014, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Caleb was travelling in a convoy that was attacked by a suicide bomber. He was airlifted to a medical facility where tragically he passed away.

Caleb graduated from Waseca High School in 2012. He was involved in football and wrestling.

He joined the Marines right after high school.

Family members describe Caleb as always having a smile on his face. He was able to lighten your mood. He loved his family and friends.

Friends describe him as giving wholeheartedly to everything he did. He was focused and was determined to enter the Marines throughout his high school years.

Caleb deployed to Afghanistan in September of 2013. He was due to come home in 
couple of months. 


Caleb is survived by many loving friends and relatives who will forever miss him.

Thank you for serving, Caleb.

Pray for the 20 year old men who die in combat. Yesterday, they were just boys.

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Caleb.

Pray that Caleb is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
