Daniel Lee - U.S. Military

Sgt. Daniel T. Lee, age 28, of Crossville, Tennessee, died on January 15, 2014, in Parwan Province, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire during combat operations.

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Daniel grew up in Kentucky and moved to Tennessee in 2005. He joined the military in 2007 and later became a Green Beret.

This was his first deployment to Afghanistan. He had previously served in Iraq.

His awards and decorations include: the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal with two Campaign Stars, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Non-commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Basic Parachutist Badge and the Special Forces Tab.

Family members stated that Dan was loving, compassionate and fun to be around.
Angels of God, pray for Dan

He lit up a room when he came in and was always smiling. He maintained a strong and positive outlook and was very dedicated to the Army.

He is his family's hero and they are proud of his service to his country. He will be forever mourned.

Daniel is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Daniel and Frances; his sister, Jamie: his wife Suzy and his 6 month old son, Daniel Roderick. 

Thank you for serving, Dan. 

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Daniel.

Pray that Daniel is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
