Frankie Jimenez - a victim of impaired driving in California

Frankie Jimenez, age 34, of Dixon, California, died on November 1, 2013, while working on a highway in Milpitas, California.

Frankie was a contract worker for the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) which manages California's highway system.

He was working on the overnight shift, and was picking up traffic cones from the highway.

Around 2:30 a.m., an oncoming car struck Frankie and another highway worker. Frankie was pinned against his work truck. His legs were severed by the impact.

The other worker who was struck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Adrian Valencia Sanchez, age 20, of Gilroy, California, has been arrested on suspicion of felony DUI. He needed to be extricated from his vehicle and was transported to a hospital.

It is not known where Adrian Sanchez was coming from but he had a Halloween mask in the backseat and preliminary tests indicated he had been drinking.

Frankie's family members stated that they are heartbroken. Frankie was the second

son of this family to die in a traffic accident. He is described as a hard worker.

Friends stated that Frankie was a great friend who was always there for others.

He will be forever missed. 

Frankie is survived by many loving friends and relatives.

Pray for all who die as a result of doing their jobs. 

God save us from the drunk and doped up drivers. They are killing us, Father.  Amen. 

God save us from the speeding drivers.  They are driving us to our graves. Amen. 

Pray that Frankie is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.

My cousin Frankie is a very special guy , That left alot of people HeartBroken the nite his life was taken from us , Frankie left a special memory in each and everyones own way ... Gone But Never , Never Forgotten

We worked many years side by side and grew up from kids did kidish things but understood once we had kids we had to grow up and provide for them in which we did it hurt that you were taken doing this im really going to miss you
