Angel Lopez - U.S. Military

Spc. Angel L. Lopez, age 27, of Parma, Ohio, died on October 5, 2013, in Zabul province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire.

He was assigned to the 201st Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Knox, Kentucky. 

Angel was a graduate of John Marshall High School.

He enlisted two years ago and worked as a mechanic. Angel was scheduled to return to his home in 30 days. 

His family is weeping and are in mourning over the death of Angel.  

Friends stated that he was a great kid.  He loved his family.  He never got into trouble. He was an amazing person.

Family members stated that Angel was proud to be a soldier in the Army of the U.S.A.

Angel is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Veronica Pacheco, his 8 siblings, his wife, Maria, and his kids, Lydia and Antonio.

Thank you for serving, Angel. 

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Angel.

Pray that Angel is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
