Token Adams - Firefighter - New Mexico

Captain Token Adams, age 41, died in the line of duty on or soon after August 30, 2013.

His body was found on September 6, 2013, on a mesa in the Santa Fe National Forest.

He was a member of United States Forest Service.  He had 10 years of service.

Token disappeared on August 30 while riding an ATV and checking on a report of smoke in the Jemez Springs Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest.  He died of an accident related to the ATV.

The area is riddled with sheer cliffs that may have contributed to this tragic accident.

A massive search for Token was undertaken but it took almost a week to find him.

Token grew up in Coarsegold, California and graduated in 1990 from Yosemite High School in Oakhurst, California.

Saint Florian, Patron Saint
of Firefighters, pray for Token
He had also served in the U.S. Navy.  He was a former member of the Kings River Hotshots firefighting team in California.

Forest Service officials describe Token as an experienced wildland firefighter who was meticulous in his actions.  He is also described as an experienced outdoorsman.

Token is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother; a brother and a sister; his wife, Heidi; and a son, Tristan (age 3).

Thank you for your service to the public, Token.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty. Amen.

Pray that Token is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
