Jon Coutchie - Law Enforcement - California

Police Officer Jon Coutchie, age 42, died in the line of duty on September 22, 2013, on a highway in Laguna Beach, Florida.

Jon was a member of the Laguna Beach Police Department. He had 6 years of service.

Jon was on motorcycle patrol at 11:30 p.m. looking for a speeding vehicle that had evaded other officers, when his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a pickup truck.  He died at the scene. 

Alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the accident.

Jon was born in Arizona but raised in Orange County, California.  He graduated from Laguna Hills High School. 

Jon was a decorated U.S. Army veteran.  He served two tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. 

The Laguna Beach Police Department is in mourning over the death of their comrade.  His death is a tragic loss.  He will be forever missed.

Jon is described as a committed cop and a nice guy who always had a smile on his face.
