Meth - the Most Dangerous Drug in the World

before meth - after meth
Today, we watched a documentary called: "The Most Dangerous Drug in the World".

The documentary was well done, straight forward with a serious message.  Don't do this drug - ever.

Okay, so many of us have done LSD, mushrooms, coke, hash, etc. but this is different.  In low dosages, methamphetamine can increase alertness, concentration, and energy in fatigued individuals. In higher doses, it can induce mania with accompanying euphoria, feelings of self-esteem and increased libido. Methamphetamine has a high potential for abuse and addiction, activating the psychological reward system by triggering a cascading release of dopamine in the brain characterized as Amphetamine/Stimulant psychosis.

To quote the documentarians:  "On the streets it is referred to as Crystal, Ice, and

Crank. Methamphetamines are viciously addictive and provide the hyperactivity effects of Cocaine along with the delusional effects of LSD. As opposed to getting a short `high’ from other drugs, this one will keep users pumped up from 6 to 12 hours and create feelings of paranoia, invulnerability, increased strength, euphoria, and may cause some to react in a violent fashion. As for health concerns, it rots the teeth, suppresses the appetite, induces insomnia, and causes brain damage among other things. Its ease of use makes it even more insidious as it can be swallowed, snorted, injected, or smoked and it is cheap to buy or can be easily manufactured by almost anyone.

Amphetamines can be found in virtually every community from the smallest towns to the largest cities and it radiates through all walks of life from the lowest to highest social classes. It is estimated that there are 26 million worldwide users of this drug. When law enforcement in the United States began to make a concerted effort to eliminate methamphetamine labs, supply then began to come from Mexico using routes already established by Cocaine Cartels."

When you do meth for a long time, your teeth rot and fall out.  You don't eat and appear gaunt, haggard and unhealthy.

When you do meth for a long time, your skin goes to shit.  You pick at imaginary "wiggly worms" under your skin until you bleed and cause scabs. Meth addicts always look like starvation cases from World War II. Some of these addicts were once beautiful women and handsome men and then they end up looking like skid row bums.

Tell your kids about this drug.  Have a discussion.  It is not like a snort of coke where you could get high for 30 minutes.  This stuff can last for 6 to 12 hours.

Tell your kids to run, not walk, away from this poison. It is a killer.

Your kids may not listen to you.  But tell them anyway.

God save us from drug addiction.  It has ruined the lives of so many decent people. They fall under the spell of something that is more powerful than them. Amen.

Look at your TV and your computer to try to find this documentary, called the "Most Dangerous Drug in the World".  It will be well worth your effort.  Show it to your kids or your bro, your buddy, your homie, or anyone else who you think may get into this bad drug.  You won't regret that you did.  You will only regret that you didn't.
