Jason Togi - U.S. Military

1st Lt. Jason Togi, age 24, of Fagasa, American Samoa, died on August 26, 2013, in Hasan Karez, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

He deployed to Afghanistan on July 4, 2013. This was his first deployment.

Jason was a 2006 graduate of Samoana High School. He attended the American Samoa Community College and a community college in Missouri. He later attended and graduated from Wentworth Military Academy College where he received a Bachelors degree.

Jason was married less than a year ago.

Family members describe him as always happy and smiling.

He is also described as bright and a man of faith.

Jason is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his father, Alepapa Togi, his five siblings; and his wife, Ana.

Thank you for serving, Jason. 

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Jason.

Pray that Jason is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
