Alexander and Bridget Jones - killed by falling wall in Melbourne, Australia

Alexander Jones, age 19, and Bridget Jones, age 18, died as the result of a tragedy on March 28, 2013, in Melbourne, Australia.
Alexander died on March 28, 2013, at the scene. Bridget lingered until March 31, 2013 and then passed away. 

They were on the way to see their father at a sports game.

Another, unnamed woman from Mount Waverley, also died. She was in her 30's. Her name has not been released as of this posting.

A large brick wall collapsed on this brother and sister and another woman, as they were walking past, killing them. It has been reported that Alexander died shielding his sister from the falling wall.

Alex and Bridget were both arts students from Melbourne University.

Family members describe both kids as respectful and kind hearted. Their parents are proud of Alexander and Bridget.

They had a wide network of friends and yet were both very close to each other. Friends describe them as achievers and as loving.

Alexander, who was nicknamed Zander by his friends and was school captain, had been planning to study law and aspired to go into politics.

Both Alexander and Bridget loved sport and music.

They had both attended Montmorency Secondary College. School officials stated that they were both quality young people, thoroughly admired, respected and loved by every student and member of staff.

The parents of Alexander and Bridget are described as wonderful parents, devoted to their children and proud of them.

Alexander and Bridget are survived by many loving friends and relatives including their parents, Ian and Sue Jones.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and gone the next. Amen.

Pray for the unnamed woman who also died in this tragedy. God help her. Amen.


Pray without ceasing unto God for Ian and Sue who have lost their children. Their loss is unspeakable. Amen.

Let us pray that Alexander and Bridget are in heaven. Let us pray that they are at peace and are with God. Amen.
