Steven Mieses - struck by 3 vehicles - Orange County, Florida

Steven Mieses, age 17, died on March 8, 2013, in Orange County, Florida.

Steven
He was trying to cross Wetherbee Road near Landstar Boulevard before 10 p.m. when he was struck by an SUV, and then another two vehicles after that.

The driver of the first vehicle to strike Steven stopped but the other two drivers sped away.

Steven was pronounced dead at the scene.

It has been reported that the driver of the SUV will not be charged because Steven was jaywalking. Family members have stated emphatically that Steven would not jaywalk as they are from New York and know that jaywalking can get you run over. They also state that the section of road that Steven was trying to cross is poorly lit.

Police are looking for the two drivers who sped away, who are guilty of hit and run.

Steven is described as a good kid, a student, and a bright kid who loved video games and playing on the computer. He was also a young handyman and helped out around the house with repairs. He was not into drugs.
Angels of God, pray for Steven

Steven is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, and his brother, Raymond Mieses and his uncle, Marcus Gomez.

Pray for all who die young and suddenly. They are with us one moment and gone the next. Amen.

Pray for justice for Steven. Amen.

Let us pray that Steven Mieses is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.

R.I.P. Steven...
didnt have the pleasure if knowing you, but can definitely say you went too soon. to my Mieses family, i cannot begin to understand what you're going thru. I send my love, prayers, and deepest condolences your way. I know im a stranger, but im deeply saddened by this. I was at the scene of the accident MINUTES after everything. so i saw everything. including steven. the sight haunts my thoughts. it wa suntil today that i decided to research and see how was the victim. never in a million years would i have thought he wa sso young. im sure there is some anger about the 2 drivers that left the scene. they are inhumane ppl with no hearts. whether the PD catches them or not, just remember that god sees everything. Y DE DIOS NADIE SE ESCONDE! i hope you all stay strong for each other. again,.. i send my love & may god bless you all! <3

I went to Shriver Job Corps with Steven Mieses. We were good friends. We were in the same Carpentry Shop together and the same Dorm Champion/Achievement. He was an amazing kid. He had such a big heart and always seemed so happy in life. He never complained the whole time he was there. He always knew how to make someone laugh. He had plenty of friends at Shriver. We all miss him alot and wish the best for his family! When I first found out I was lost for words and full with tears. We were like best friends. Woke up and would meet each other before breakfast and walk with each other to Shop everyday, eat lunch together, and even when the training day was over, we still hung out. I am truely sorry for your loss and send all my best wishes, prayers, love, and condolences. R.I.P Steven Mieses LOVED but NEVER EVER forgotten! Your an ANGEL <3
