Sean Callahan - Law Enforcement - Georgia

Police Officer Sean Callahan, age 24, died on December 18, 2012, at a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Sean was a member of the Clayton County Police Department. He had 4 months of service.

Light a candle for Sean.
Light his way to Heaven.
On December 17, 2012, at about 2:15 p.m., Sean and other officers had responded to a domestic disturbance at a motel on Davidson Parkway. As officers attempted to arrest the male subject he began to resist and fled on foot. The officers chased the man around the motel where the subject opened fire, striking Officer Callahan in the head twice. Other officers returned fire, killing the subject.

Sean was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds the following morning.

Family members stated that by age 18, Sean wanted to become a police officer. He ultimately wanted to become part of a K-9 Unit. He loved dogs.

Family members describe Sean as kind and gentle and a hero who gave his life for the citizens of Clayton County. He is also described as soft-hearted and a romantic at heart.

Sean is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother Darlene Callahan; and his sister Candice.

Thank you for serving, Sean.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty. Pray for all who die young and tragically. Amen.

Let us pray that Sean Callahan is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
