Giorgi Kikadze

Republic of Georgia Soldier, Sgt. Giorgi Kikadze was found dead on December 29, 2012, in an empty compound south of the town of Musa Qala, Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

He had gone missing on December 18, 2012.

There are currently no personal details about Giorgi to report on - no stated age, his tours of duty or his family members.

This poor man had been beaten and stabbed before he was shot four times in the head.

After he had gone missing, searches for him were conducted by Coalition troops. They were unsuccessful.

God save us from barbarism.
The Taliban says that Giorgi Kikadze was captured after a firefight three weeks ago when he was left behind by fleeing comrades after the Taliban destroyed two Georgian vehicles. The Taliban says they had tried to negotiate a prisoner exchange and executed Kikadze when a prisoner exchange was refused.

The killing comes two days after Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid was quoted in The New York Times as saying the Taliban does not summarily execute prisoners, which is a lie.

Thank you for serving, Giorgi.

God save us from barbarism. Amen.

Let us pray that Giorgi Kikadze is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
