Friends said that Zykia was leaving a birthday party on Saturday, just after 2 a.m. She and a group were walking to a store when suddenly, several unknown suspects in a four-door sedan fired several shots. 15 to 20 shots were fired and one of them struck Zykia as she tried to run away.
She was found along the 4000 block of Holden Street outside of an apartment complex. She was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where she was pronounced dead at 2:35 a.m.
Police state that Zykia was not the intended victim of this shooting and was killed by a stray bullet. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
God help us. Can we not walk the streets in the night any more without taking our life in our hands?

Call the police anonymously at 215-686-TIPS if you have information about this horrible crime. There is a $20,000. reward for information leading to the conviction of Zykia's killer(s).
Zykia was a student of the University of Phoenix and was due to graduate in 2013.
Family members said that Zykia was single and had no children. She was fun to be around. Friends said that she had a bubbly personality and everyone loved her.
Zykia is survived by many loving friends and relatives including her Grandmother, Barbara Sanders.
God save us from the Lost Ones who stalk the Earth stealing away life. Amen.
