Scott Ward - Law Enforcement - Alabama

Deputy Sheriff Scott Ward, age 47, died in the line of duty on November 23, 2012, in Fairhope, Alabama.

Scott was a member of the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. He had 15 years of service and had previously served with the Prichard Police Department.

Scott and two other deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call shortly after 4:00 pm.

The deputies were questioning a male subject on the home's front porch when the man suddenly produced a handgun and opened fire. Deputy Ward and one other deputy were shot before the subject was killed by return fire.
