Jersey Bridgeman - Murdered in Arkansas - pray for this child

Jersey Bridgeman, age 6, was murdered on or about November 20, 2012, in a vacant house in a trailer park in Bentonville, Arkansas.

It is believed that this poor child was raped and suffocated. 

Zachary Holly, age 28, the next door neighbor, has been arrested in connection with this crime.

The tragic death of this poor child has a pre-history. And a sad pre-history at that. 

In 2011, the father of Jersey Bridgeman, David Bridgeman and his wife, Jana Bridgeman, who was the stepmother of Jersey, were arrested for chaining the girl to a dresser in their home in the nearby town of Rogers. David Bridgeman told investigators that he restrained Jersey to keep her from getting into medication and other things in the house.

David Bridgeman is now serving an 18-year prison sentence after pleading guilty in June of 2012 to false imprisonment, permitting the abuse of a minor and endangering the welfare of a minor. The stepmother is serving a 12-year sentence, plus three years for a probation revocation, after pleading guilty to the same charges.

Jersey received something of a fresh start when she moved in with her mother and began kindergarten this Fall. However, this fresh start resulted in her death. 

A family friend stated that Jersey had a unique quality and that she was a "little, old soul". 

Jesus, pray for Jersey.  

And no wonder. She relied on the adults in her life to protect her and what did she get? Abusive parents and a murderous neighbor? If it wasn't the neighbor, it was someone else. 

Jersey is survived by many loving friends, well-wishers and relatives including her mother, DesaRae Bridgeman; and a younger sister. 

Pray without ceasing unto God, that the children in this world are saved from abuse and childhood death. They deserve to be allowed to grow up and to make their own life. Amen. 

God help us. Amen
