Pakistani girl - Malala Yousufzai - shot by the Taliban

Malala Yousufzai, age 14, was shot and seriously wounded on October 9, 2012, in the northwest Pakistan City of Mingora.

She was shot in the head and the neck. She clings to life.

The Taliban in Pakistan stated that she was against them and that she promoted the education of girls which is a Western concept.
Angels of God, pray for the women
of Afghanistan.  Help them.

Malala spoke out against the Taliban during a time period when even the government wasn't making it a point to aggressively address the violence. In 2009, they had agreed to halt their fire with the Taliban in Swat, which essentially recognized the group as having control of the area. Soon after, the Taliban put up courts, murdered residents and closed girls' schools, including the one that Malala had gone to.

When the Afghan army eventually regained control in 2009, Malala was presented with the country's highest civilian award. She was also nominated for awards for child activism.

Pray for Malala Yousufzai. She is only a child after all. Pray that she recovers from this shooting. Amen.

Pray for the women of Afghanistan. God help them.

God save the women of Afghanistan from the Taliban. Amen.
